Sports Events to Watch Out for This April
While the month April signals the shift to working out indoors to outdoors, it’s also the time of the year when the sporting calendar is abuzz with excitement. Read through the lineup of our favorite sporting events happening this month, and get ready to support your top team picks as we watch the action unfold.
MLB Opening Day
April 1
After last year’s revised 60-game schedule which cut the excitement short, the full 162-game schedule resumes this year. We’ll be seeing all 30 MLB teams play in action with the kick-off starting on April 1. The 15 match-ups playing on opening day have been released - so strap in for a full day of festivities in the stadium or tune into ESPN and MLB.TV with your SYNC ANC noise-cancelling headphones to watch distraction-free.
NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four
April 3, April 5
Now that March Madness is heads into April, the final stretch of the tournament is underway with the Final Four. This year’s match-up is exciting - with Gonzaga entering at zero losses, and UCLA coming back to the Final Four for the first time since 2008. In the other matchup, Houston will look to try and upset Baylor who are both in search of their first national championship. The whole tournament is held in Indiana due to travel restrictions, so fans can look forward to the livestream from Lucas Oil Stadium Unity via CBS on April 3. Teams then battle it out on the Championship Game on April 5, which means we’re days away from finding out who this year’s title holder is.
NFL Draft
April 29 - May 1
While the season doesn’t officially open until September, the NFL draft taking place in Cleveland this month is just as important to watch out for. The seven-round draft starts with Jacksonville Jaguars at No.1 and ends with Tampa Bay Buccaneers at No. 259. Tune in via ESPN to watch the first round on April 29, rounds 2 to 3 on April 30, and rounds 4 to 7 on May 1.
Despite the setbacks, the sporting season comes back in full swing this month so we’re gearing up for a month of impressive match-ups. And even if you’re watching from home, you can still enjoy a fully immersive experience. One thing we recommend to keep beside you at all times? A pair of noise-cancelling earbuds.
